I love that song. I’m not so keen on the water that’s currently dripping through our kitchen ceiling. At first we thought it was the bath leaking somewhere inside and dripping down through into the floor and then through the ceiling. However, we have now discovered a second leak coming from through from the spare room, so we’re now quite confused as to the origins of the leak. It is a bit worrying, to say the least.
We phoned the estate agents this morning and they phoned the landlord, who is going to come round in the morning. Apparently the earliest a plumber can come round is Monday afternoon. I suppose that as long as no more leaks appear and the existing ones don’t get any worse it should be OK. I just hope that the plumber can find the source of the leak and fix it without destroying too much of the house.
Otherwise, today has been quite uneventful. I did some destructive gardening, cutting things back for winter. The buddleia is now but a stump of its former self. I felt a bit bad when I was chopping it down, but reminded myself that I wasn’t actually killing it, just giving it the equivalent of a hair cut.
I managed to drop the secateurs over the fence into the next-door neighbours garden, but Mr C managed to get them back for me, using the hook-on-a-stick thing that we use to open the attic door. Phew.
I tidied the garden up a bit, performing the futile task of sweeping up the piles of leaves that had gathered in the last few days. It won’t be long before there are more leaves on the ground, although soon the trees won’t have many leaves left to shed. Winter is on its way.
