I went to Spring Harvest (which I keep rather vaguely describing to people as “a big Christian thing”) over the Easter weekend. I would write more about it, but I’m still processing the stuff I learned and experienced, so writing about it in public will have to wait, if indeed this ever happens. In summary, it was absorbing, exciting, fascinating, gripping, inspirational, interesting, intriguing, inviting, provocative, refreshing, stirring. (Guess who looked up ‘thought-provoking’ in a thesaurus?) It was also a lot of fun and great to spend time with and get to know people from our church, plus some people we’d never met before.
Apart from this, we saw some interesting wildlife:

Who would have thought a weekend at Butlin’s could be so exciting?

Spring Harvest has always been exciting. Was there a lot of new music this year? I must be getting old as I’m finding a lot of the newer songs a bit trite.
Did Giraffe go with you?
Unlikely I’ll ever make it as Mr E is not inclined to go to “a jamboree” as he calls it and I don’t want to leave him alone – and this year we spent time going to rescue centre to choose “new to us” dog which we brought home on Easter Monday.
I know it’s only six weeks from the death of Poppers but we’ve filled the hole in our lives rather than replacing him – and even Mr E now understands that it’s not disloyal to the previous pet to do that.
The music we did was almost all new to me, but I think that’s because our church doesn’t usually do songs written after 1997…well, maybe 2000. I liked the songs we did. I can’t remember thinking any of them were trite.
No, I’m afraid Giraffe didn’t go with me. He stayed at work, guarding my desk – poor Giraffe!
Glad you’ve got a new dog, I hope he/she is settling in well.
