Library day in the life: 29th July 2011

July 29, 2011

Today at work, I:

  • Continued re-cataloguing the delightful Maths Quest games.
  • Looked for a book for a student and couldn’t find it.
  • Finished re-cataloguing the delightful Maths Quest games.
  • Boxed up the nursing books (see yesterday’s post) to be sent off for disposal.
  • Re-catalogued some books that were formerly classified as being ‘oversize’ but now are not, due to the changes in the definition of what counts as ‘oversize’ in our library.
  • Sat at the library desk. I can’t remember dealing with any students, but I think I must have done.
  • Continued and finished with the no-longer-oversize books.
  • Processed yet more donated books.
  • Catalogued yet more donated books.
  • Had lunch (cheese salad sandwich). Went into town to buy a knitting needle case.
  • Ate some cake (coffee and walnut).
  • Sat at the desk again.
  • Re-catalogued some posters.
  • Possibly got a tiny bit over-excited about the h subfield. (I blame the coffee cake).
  • Sat at the desk again.
  • Said goodbye to yet another colleague on their last day with us.
  • Was tired.
