A Sunday stroll in Kensington Gardens

Last weekend we went to stay with friends in London. I went on a short walk around Kensington Gardens and took some photographs. It was a really hot day and there were a lot of people around. The formal gardens were lovely – I’d never seen them before  and neither had my friend, despite the fact that she works about five minutes walk away from them, so it was  a nice surprise for both of us.

  1. All that beautiful garden and not a gardener in sight. How do they do that? Very nice little tour.

Wait, I thought it was always raining in England? Or is that just some stereotype from Sherlock Holmes.

  2. Oh dear! It is NOT always raining in England, honestly it isn’t. We had a bit of sunshine last week I seem to remember. However, I do have to admit that this year’s summer has been exceptionally rainy and today one is in danger of being blown away. The gardeners are very much in evidence in Kensington Gardens, and the other London parks, if you look for them. I think that Lilian was being selective in her picture taking. Next time I’m in a London I’ll look for a gardener and ask if I can take his picture just to prove to you that it’s not magic.
