Stuff I’ve been doing recently

  • Looking at the snow.
  • Not going out, apart from to check whether or not trains had appeared at the station.
  • Getting confused about what day it is. I haven’t been to work for four days and at some points I wasn’t sure what day it was as they were all the same, really, with no routine, not even choir practices or church-related activities to give any structure to them. It was a bit weird.
  • Not singing. I wasn’t able to get to Other Choir practice, and the concert we were going to do on Thursday was postponed until next Thursday. There will be an extra Other Choir practice tomorrow night, so I hope I can get to that, otherwise I will have to mime at the carol service on Tuesday night.
  • Knitting. As mentioned before, the blanket is finished apart from the edging, which I can’t do until I’ve bought the requisite wool. In the interim I have started making a small teddy bear. He looks OK for a first attempt, although he is a bit thin, poor bear.
  • Finishing reading Surprised by Joy and starting to read Mere Christianity.
  • Wishing I hadn’t left Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary at work, because I would have finished it by now!
  • Watching Battlestar Galactica. Again.
  • Being a scaredy-mouse. The main reason I haven’t been out of the house for the last couple of days, apart from the fact that I didn’t need to, is that I am a scaredy-mouse about ice and slush, or, more specifically, the potential for slipping over in them. I think I will have to go out today (although all church things are cancelled due to the weather) and try wandering about and not being scared. A lot of the snow has gone now, but I suspect it will be rather slushy and/or icy, which I think  is worse if you’re a pedestrian.
  • Hoping trains will be running tomorrow and that I will be able to get to and from work without incident!

  1. It is very frosty again today where I live. Sounds like you’ve been reading some good books. I’ve just finished watching the DVD of War and Peace (BBC series) and am attempting to read the book, so that will keep me busy for a while!

Congratulations for finishing the knitted teddy bear but why is he so thin? 🙂
