First Fair Isle

First Fair Isle (hat)

As the title suggests, this was my first attempt at Fair Isle knitting. I was a bit scared of it, but, actually, it really wasn’t too bad. I enjoyed seeing the pattern emerge, but I probably should have used more contrasting colours, as the pattern isn’t all that easy to see in some lights. The pattern is Two-Colour Infant Hat, by Paulina Chin. I’m planning to make a bigger version soon, but thought it would be good to do a small hat as my first attempt!

P.S. Sorry to any non-knitters reading this blog – I know it’s a bit knitting-heavy at the moment!

Wow, that is really impressive. I bet you’re very pleased with it. I like reading about knitting but hope to also read some news abut the impending new arrival as well :) Have you thought of any names yet?

That’s lovely. Would love to master Fair Isle but don’t know where to start with it!
